Hockey East put out its men's weekly release Monday, and the Massachusetts schools were all over it. Here's who did what, all taken straight from the league's own numbers.

BU: five of six points

Boston University swept Maine and scored 10 goals doing it, taking five of the six league points available, according to Hockey East. Both wins were in league play, and the Saturday win came in overtime.

Sophomore Tynan Lawrence opened Friday's 7-2 win just 29 seconds in, stealing the puck in his own zone and going coast-to-coast. That started a stretch of three BU goals in 1:02.

Saturday was the harder one. BU was down 2-0 in the third period. Lawrence scored twice to tie it, and freshman Caleb Malhotra won it in overtime.

Freshman defenseman Xavier Villeneuve, from Les Cedres, Quebec, scored his first college goal and added an assist Friday, and was a plus-three.

In net, junior Mikhail Yegorov posted a .939 save percentage, the best among league goalies with two starts last week, and a 1.97 goals-against average. He made 62 saves and gave up two goals in each game. The St. Petersburg, Russia, native is the reason a third-period comeback was even possible Saturday.

BC and Northeastern: overtime twice

Northeastern and Boston College split a pair of overtime games at Conte Forum, each taking three points.

BC junior Dean Letourneau had two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner Friday, and has at least one point in all seven games he's played this year (five goals, five assists). Freshman Alex Pelletier scored his first career goal Saturday and finished with the first three points of his college career.

Northeastern's Jacob Mathieu scored both of the Huskies' goals in regulation Saturday, each time tying the game, then they won 4-3 in overtime.

And then there's Northeastern senior goalie Lawton Zacher. He stopped 91 of 97 shots across the two games, a .938 save percentage. That's 45 saves Friday and 46 Saturday, a new career high and tied for the most by a Hockey East goalie this season. He's the only goalie in the league with back-to-back 40-save games this year, and the first Husky to do it since Devon Levi in February 2022.

BC put 97 shots on him and still only got three points out of the weekend. That's a goalie stealing one, plain and simple.

UMass and UMass Lowell: splits

UMass split with Harvard. Senior forward Jack Musa scored in both games, including a power-play winner Friday. Senior goalie Jackson Irving of Newbury, Mass., made 35 saves in his first start of the season, a 4-2 win Saturday, and stopped all 13 shots in the third period of a one-goal game.

UMass Lowell split at Colgate. Junior Jacob MacDonald scored three goals. Freshman Misha Volotovskii got his first NCAA goal. Sophomore defenseman Nate Misskey had three points and was a plus-two, and senior goalie Cole Moore went 1-1 and got his first win as a River Hawk.

Merrimack: a title-game rematch

Merrimack and UConn met in a two-game rematch of the 2026 Hockey East championship game. Merrimack won 5-4 Friday, with freshman defenseman David Green scoring twice, including the winner, and adding two assists for four points. Ty Daneault had three points. Saturday ended 5-5. Junior Nick Pierre had a hat trick, and he has eight goals in his last six games.

The rest of the league

Vermont swept New Hampshire behind freshman Mathias Loiselle, who scored both game-winners, one on a penalty shot with 2:49 left Friday. On Saturday he set up both regulation goals, including the power-play equalizer with 47 seconds left, then won it in overtime on his own. Vermont goalie Jacob Oster made 48 saves across the sweep. UNH sophomore defenseman Conner de Haro had three assists in the two losses.

What I'm watching

Zacher. A goalie making 45-plus saves two nights in a row is great for one weekend and a warning sign for a season. Northeastern can't keep giving up nearly 50 shots a night and expect him to bail them out.

What we don't know

How long BU's freshmen keep this up. Malhotra, Villeneuve and the rest are seven or eight games into college hockey.
