Gronk Goes Into the Hall, the 2016 Team Comes Home, and the Packers Visit Gillette for the First Time Since 2018. Oh, and the Kicker

New England can start 4-0 at home for the first time since 2019. A.J. Brown's status, Andy Borregales' misses and a Nov. 10 trade deadline hang over the week.

The Patriots came home from two straight road games with a 24-19 comeback win in Miami, and this week at Gillette isn't just a football game. It's a whole weekend.

Rob Gronkowski goes into the Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. on the Patriot Place Plaza. It's free and open to the public, according to the team. The 2016 Super Bowl LI team is back for a 10th anniversary reunion, will attend the ceremony and will be introduced before Sunday's game. Gronk gets a halftime celebration too.

Fans voted Gronkowski in as the 38th member of the Patriots Hall of Fame, announced April 29. He's the fourth straight inductee with at least three Super Bowl rings in New England, after Julian Edelman in 2025, Tom Brady in 2024 and, yes, Mike Vrabel in 2023, according to the team. So the head coach gets to watch a former teammate join him.

Then the Green Bay Packers come to Foxborough Sunday on FOX, with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call.

The Packers, by the numbers

It's Green Bay's first trip to Gillette since the Patriots won 31-17 on Nov. 4, 2018, according to the team's game preview. The last meeting was a 27-24 overtime loss at Lambeau on Oct. 2, 2022.

The regular-season series is tied 6-6. New England is 5-2 at home against Green Bay and 2-1 at Gillette. The Packers' one win in Foxborough was a 28-10 game on Oct. 13, 2002, the Patriots' first regular-season loss in the new stadium. And yes, Green Bay won the only playoff meeting, Super Bowl XXXI in New Orleans in January 1997.

A win Sunday puts the Patriots at 4-0 at home, their best home start since they won their first five in 2019, per the team.

How they won in Miami

New England trailed 13-3 at halftime against a last-place Dolphins team, Boston.com reported. They came back to win 24-19. Mike Vrabel told WEEI's Greg Hill Show it was "a little bit of both" scheme adjustments and better execution. The Patriots had a season-high five sacks, according to the team.

Rhamondre Stevenson ran for 82 yards on 19 carries. Vrabel praised him at length on WEEI, saying, "The things that he does on the football field tell me that he cares deeply about the team."

The kicker

Andy Borregales has missed kicks this season, and he was asked about it at Vrabel's Monday press conference. Vrabel's answer, from the team transcript: "Well, it doesn't seem like he has. I mean, he has, and that needs to get corrected. I've got a lot of confidence in Andy."

"We have to make our kicks. Everybody has a job here," Vrabel said. "Hopefully, he's making a lot of extra points and not having to kick a lot of field goals."

Vrabel was in a joking mood about the officials, too. Asked about the unnecessary roughness call on linebacker Christian Elliss, he told WEEI, "He hit him too hard I think," Boston.com reported.

That's a head coach backing his guy in public. But the question was whether they'd bring in competition, and he didn't say no. In a one-score league, I'm keeping an eye on the practice-squad wire.

A.J. Brown

Brown, the big offseason addition, was ruled out for Miami with a knee injury after being limited with an ankle problem earlier in the week, Boston.com reported. He didn't travel. Vrabel's update on WEEI: "We'll see where he is today." When the hosts kept pushing, he repeated himself.

Vrabel also got a little heated about how his team gets covered. "Imagine if we would've benched Drake Maye after he threw a couple of interceptions? I mean that's what you guys sound like sometimes," he said. "It's ridiculous."

Roster moves and the deadline

The Patriots activated tackle Marcus Bryant from injured reserve to the 53-man roster and released cornerback Kindle Vildor, the team announced.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. Boston.com noted New England is short on cap space. "I think we'll try to do what we can to make the team better," Vrabel said. "I think this time of year, everybody talks."

What I'm watching

Whether Brown practices this week. Whether Borregales gets a challenger. And whether the Patriots can handle the emotion of a Gronk weekend without letting it turn into a sloppy Sunday.

What we don't know

Brown's status for Sunday hasn't been announced. The first official injury report of the week comes out Wednesday.
