50 Cent Gets Temporary Restraining Order Against Rick Ross's Ex Tia Kemp Over Posts About His 14-Year-Old Son
His complaint says Kemp mocked the boy's autism to a mass audience. Critics note 50 joked about bailing out the man accused of pistol-whipping Ross and Kemp's adult son.
A judge has granted 50 Cent a temporary restraining order against Tia Kemp, the former partner of rapper Rick Ross, in a case in which he accuses her of cyberstalking his 14-year-old son, TMZ reported Wednesday.
According to court documents first obtained by Billboard and summarized by Vice, 50 Cent, whose legal name is Curtis Jackson, alleges Kemp has repeatedly harassed his son online with degrading comments, including mocking the boy's autism. "Ms. Kemp shamelessly used the label 'on the spectrum' as a pejorative slur hurled at a child to humiliate him and his family. But autism is not shameful," the complaint says. "What is shameful is fabricating a diagnosis for a private child, inventing a sexually degrading cause for it, and broadcasting both to a mass audience."
The complaint argues the boy is not a public figure and should not be a "prop and a punchline" in Kemp's disputes with his father. 50 Cent is seeking a restraining order, financial damages and removal of the posts. Kemp's response to the complaint had not been reported. The allegations have not been tested in court beyond the temporary order.
The case is the latest turn in the long feud between 50 Cent and Rick Ross, and critics have pointed to an apparent double standard. Vice reported that the 21-year-old son Ross and Kemp share was recently pistol-whipped by a man in South Florida, who allegedly threatened to kill him over a woman; the man turned himself in after a police report was filed. 50 Cent joked online that he would bail the man out: "I got him he will be out tomorrow I'm sending @drewfindling. This is a big misunderstanding that can easily be resolved. This was a street fight, I mean STREET FIGHTER is in theaters!"
Ross has not directly responded to 50 Cent's posts, Vice reported. Ross separately faces battery and domestic violence allegations in Miami involving a different former girlfriend, which he denies.
