Millyz has been one of Boston's most consistent rappers for over a decade, and his new single "No Favors" is the kind of record that tells you where he sees himself. He put himself on a track with Jadakiss, Styles P and Dave East, three New York rappers with long catalogs, and made it his song.

"No Favors" was released Oct. 23 and produced by Rey Beats, according to its streaming listings. It runs 3:28 and came with an official video.

The hook is the thesis: "Do me a favor, don't do me no favors," according to published lyrics. It's a line about self-reliance, and every verse works around it. Jadakiss opens. Styles P and Dave East follow, and Millyz holds the center.

Putting two members of the LOX on the same record is a statement. Jadakiss and Styles P have been rapping together since the 1990s. Dave East represents the next generation of Harlem rap. Millyz connecting the two, from Boston, says a lot about the respect he has in the East Coast lane.

Millyz is nominated for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year at the 2026 Boston Music Awards, and his collaboration with Joyner Lucas, "Corleone," is up for Song of the Year in the 1 million+ streams category, according to the BMA nominees list. Fan voting runs through Nov. 16.

Boston rap has always had to fight for a seat at the table in a region where New York casts a long shadow. Records like this one show the gap closing. When a Boston artist can bring that lineup and not get outshined on his own track, that's a sign of where the scene is.

"No Favors" is on Spotify and Audiomack, linked below. It's also in this week's Boston Music Picks.

This is a grown-man rap record, no gimmicks, no chasing trends. If you came up on the LOX, you'll love it. If you didn't, it's a good introduction to why Millyz has lasted this long.
