Harvard Lost Two Sets 25-11 to Yale, Then Came Back to Win in Five and Give Jennifer Weiss Her 400th Career Victory
The 25-18, 11-25, 11-25, 25-23, 15-7 win completed Harvard's first season sweep of Yale since 2014. Yale still leads the Ivy at 8-2; Harvard is 7-3.

Harvard women's volleyball beat Yale 3-2 on Saturday, 25-18, 11-25, 11-25, 25-23, 15-7, giving head coach Jennifer Weiss her 400th career win, all of them at Harvard, according to Harvard Athletics.
The win completed Harvard's first sweep of the season series against Yale since 2014.
The set scores tell the story. Harvard took the first set by seven. Yale then won the next two by 14 points each, a dominant stretch that put the Bulldogs one set from the match. Harvard won the fourth by two, 25-23, and controlled the fifth, 15-7, according to the official box score.
Yale's own recap highlighted a career night from Goodenow, according to Yale Athletics.
After the match, Harvard was 16-3 overall and 7-3 in the Ivy League, and Yale was 14-4 and 8-2, according to the box score. Yale remains ahead in the conference race, but the head-to-head sweep could matter if the teams finish level.
Reaching 400 wins at a single school is a milestone for any coach and more so in the Ivy League, where there are no athletic scholarships and seasons are shorter than at many Division I programs. Weiss has built her entire career total in Cambridge.
Comebacks from 2-1 down are rare, and doing it after losing two straight sets by 14 points, against the conference leader, says something about a team's composure. With a few weeks left in the Ivy season, Harvard has the head-to-head edge it needs if it can close the gap.
Harvard continues its Ivy schedule through November. Harvard Athletics posts the remaining schedule.
