Nicki Minaj went after New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on X on Wednesday: "Kathy Hochul is an evil woman," she wrote, adding the governor "will not escape God's wrath," according to XXL. Then a second post, in all caps, telling Black voters and Christians how dare they vote for Hochul, and to vote for Republican Bruce Blakeman.

Hochul got asked about it the same day while campaigning in Albany. Her answer: "Maybe she oughta get outside and offline a little more. And stop going to Trump rallies because it's kinda poisoning your mind." XXL notes recent polling shows Hochul with a double-digit lead heading into Tuesday.

Minaj's politics have been moving in public for a while. XXL's own recent headlines include President Trump praising her at a White House luncheon and bringing her up at a Michigan rally.

Dez's take: celebrity endorsements rarely move a governor's race, and a double-digit lead doesn't usually blink at an X post. But Hochul taking the bait tells you she thinks Minaj's audience is worth answering. Minaj has a huge following. I'm not telling you who to vote for. I'm telling you both of them just spent a day of a closing week on each other.

What we still don't know: whether any of it moves a single vote on Tuesday.
