Boston University Has Not Published Sexual Misconduct Data Since 2022-23, Student Paper Reports
The university recorded 229 internal reports in 2022-23, up from 150 the year before. Student advocates are calling for annual releases to resume.

Boston University has not released sexual misconduct data since the 2022-23 school year, leaving a two-year gap in public information, The Daily Free Press reported.
BU recorded 229 internal sexual misconduct reports in 2022-23, up from 150 the previous year. Nearly half of the 2022-23 reports were closed because the affected person chose not to participate in the resolution process, according to the paper.
BU spokesperson Jill Jess said in a statement to the paper that reporting statistics "represent only one part of a much broader picture." Leaders of 16,000 Strong, a Student Government committee focused on sexual assault prevention, said they have pushed for the annual data to resume since late 2024.
